With decades of experience and part of a living legal legacy of former Texas Court of Criminal Appeals Judges, Morris L. Overstreet has a reputation as a truly dynamic attorney.
Judge Overstreet was elected to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals in 1990 and was reelected to a full, six-year term that concluded in 1998.
In addition, the Judge was once a Certified Contract Advisor with the NFL Players Association authorized to negotiate contracts between players, clubs, and their owners.
Judge Overstreet earned his Doctorate of Juris Prudence Degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in 1975, where he began a prolific law career.  In 1994, he returned to college and received a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology from Prairie View A&M University.  
Judge Overstreet served as the Director of Clinical Legal Studies at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. A frequent lecturer, Judge Overstreet is in high demand as a public speaker and legal consultant. As a member of the Court, he has authored over 500 legal opinions and currently serves as Chair-Elect of the Judicial Council Division of the National Bar Association.
